Coult it be when you have the it unplugged it doesn't get enough fuel? My car knowledge is minimal but thinking the computer doesn't think the secondaries are open so it runs lean, you get a cel with it plugged in but the power is there becuase the fuel is? I don't really know.. just a thought..
