Dan,
You are correct in assuming the MAF sizes are the same... I got the SVT kit for my SE, and while I have run into a slight snag with it, the SE MAF bolts up to the SVT adapter without any modification. Here are the snags I have run into which can be easily fixed, but will take some thinking as to exactly which way to fix them.
1. The silicone hose stops about 1/2" short of the fender duct. I either need to increase the distance between MAF and TB or obtain a longer piece of silicone hose for the end cap. I am assuming that the "accordian" style hose between MAF and TB are of different lengths, but since I do not have any owners of SVT's in my area, I have no visual way of comparing the two, but I can assume this to be true as BAT's catalog states that their revised intake tube will work with a stock SVT box, but will only work with an aftermarket filter on an SE, so I am assuming that the two differ (SVT is longer?)
2. I am having problems locating a good mounting spot for the support bracket, which is in essence a piece of metal bar with two holes drilled in it. This bracket will either need to be shortened and have the hole redrilled on one end, or a mounting location other than what I am looking directly at will need to be found.
3. IAT must be relocated.... if I go with an SVT MAF to TB hose, this will not be an issue, but is still something that the SVT kit does not have that the SE kit does due to the SVT's IAT already being relocated, whereas the SE IAT is in the airbox.
I know I can do this, and I am close to solving the big "mystery" (j/k), but right now with school and all I am at a stand still. However, thanks to input from Rob_B I have gotten closer to completion of this project than I would have on my own. I would drive the car as is, but I am still waiting on my Borla kit from Muscle Motors (3 weeks on backorder.... grrrr... hurry up Borla) and my stock exhaust including cat is off from underneath, and I am not putting it back on just to drive it to go on a wild goose chase just yet. But I will fill you guys in on things as I find out more.
BTW, for all of you who read my previous posts griping against KKM, I have not changed my stance, but they are unfortunately the only company to date that has come close to offering any type of CIA for this car, so I bit the bullet and bought one from them and simply told Warren this time that my car was an SVT. If you want true CIA, KKM is the way to go.
