I have a Sony Network Walkman. It is not the one that stores music on a hard drive, it records everything on a Minidisc. One minidisc can hold 6 hours of music at CD Quality with special compression software that comes with the player. The player also writes the minidisc, so no seperate recorder is needed. You can write to the minidisc over and over too. It has shock protection, (I've never had mine skip) and you can buy a sports model with an armband. It is also pretty small, 2.5"w 3" h 1"d, and one AA battery lasts for 50 hours of play. Prices range from $100-$150.
