Sony network walkman....hands down! Smaller than the ipod, 40gb drive, 30 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE, and it's a reasonable $399. Not to mention the recent announcement that it will support mp3's, not that proprietary file format they were originally going to use. Can't go wrong IMO, that's where my money is going to go if i ever buy an mp3 player.

Any comments are appreciated. I-Pod mini is too small. Cost not an issue. Needs to have belt hook, preferrably arm band(for working out).

TIA,

Mark

I'm assuming "Mrs. T" wants something easy to use. iPod, hands down.

of course, I may be biased ... proud owner of one ... but magazine reviews for the past few years tout its ease of use. Even the latest issue of Mobile PC magazine questioned why the iPod was still the most popular music player even though more feature-ful and less costly players are now out there, and ease of use remained the primary reason.

There are tons of accessories out for it too, you have a choice of ten or 15 different cases (with belt hooks) for it: leather, 'skin' plastic, hard plastic, Neoprene, the list goes on!

Then upgrade to the Nomad Muvo. You can get a 512MB version and even a 4GB version, no harddrive

And Ipods are just so darn trendy! I wanna be a silhouette dancing against a pastel background too!

Actually, I prefer my CD-MP3 player because I can transfer MP3s to it using anything with a CD burner, and I can buy a CD from a store and play it on my player without having to transfer anything anywhere. The player stashes in a pocket or on my belt and all the functions are done by remote. It's a great solution, especially for the price.

iPod Mini.

It's simple, and does exactly what she want's it too. I like it as well. Simple software, small and easy to use. I also bought her the dock and arm-band. Now to load it up...
