Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Remember that now defunct site that always had the $50 off coupons and it retailed for like $110. I bet we put them out of business just on B&M orders alone.

Funny thing is as soon as they were gone the price nearly doubled. hmmm...

Nope. You got ripped man...

Not that it was cool anyway but you lost out on neat aluminum paperweight.

went to nopi to buy a B&M short shifter, on the website it said that it included the knob and was $160. once i got to the local nopi store and opened the box there was no knob.

i brought this to the attention of the sales person at nopi and he just said " well i guess it doesn't come with a knob" . so i left.

called summit racing, also on their web site it says that it also includes the knob.so i called and tracked down someone to actually look in the box and there was no knob. i questioned the sales person at summit only to got a similar answer.

i don't mind spending $160 for the B&M shifter all i want is for it to include the knob . where can i buy one that includes the knob and can know for sure if it includes one before i buy .i'm not going to use the B&M knob i already found one i like . but for $160 i at least want the paper weight.

People may jump all over me for this, but whatever.......

Forgo the B&M and try and find an OBX Shifter for a Focus (2000) on eBay. it is IDENTICAL to the B&M, no lie, I know, I have one! And it comes with a shift knob!

People will say they break, but here is what you do to prevent that (and it will cost you less in the long run, compared to buying the B&M); if you look at the lower ball joint on the shifter you will see that its kind of pressed into and spot welded into the shifter arm. That's what breaks off, but don't fret. Take the shifter to your freindly exhaust shop and have him MIG (or TIG if you know someone who has and can use one) weld the lower ball joint to the shifter, around the base of it, so it's stronger.

Then install it and shift away. It wouldn't cost more than $10 to have it welded and would take 10 minutes max, to do.

That's what I had done to mine and it's as strong as an ox!

I called B&M they said they only include the knob for about 5 modles now, other than that there are no knobs included.

why do people want the knob? I never use mine, its either too damn hot or too damn cold, and its slippery. Mine just sits in my glove box.

critique this: go to a junkyard, get stock shifter, cut the rod 2". voila! OEM quality, no fitment issues, reversible.

takes time to find one, and I'm not sure how much they'd charge for that.

of course there are no junkyards around where I work, so I can't try this out. (Building next to Men in Black headquarters )
