Well I also have a 96 - mine is a 4cyl though and I had the same problem actually. It leaked for about a period of 3-4 days and stopped just as mysteriously as it began. I had it looked at while it was leaking and they couldn't find any areas of trouble at all. It's been find now for almost 3 weeks.
