So you equate doing drugs with not being intelligent?
Be careful what you say here, because I've smoked weed since I was 15 years old, and I have a very successful career, including owning 3 of my own businesses while still holding a day job. And I am not the only one, I'd say that at least 50% of the people I've worked with throughout my 12 years in Corporate America were pot-smokers, including CEO's, CIO's, Managers, Policemen, Firemen, Pilots, Doctors, Nurses, and more.

I've done 10x worse than weed, am moderately high up on the financial food chain, fairly intelligent if I do say so myself and I was an abject and COMPLETE drooling idiot for messing with any of it.
Then again, I consider intelligence to be a packaged deal; smarts combined with wisdom. If half the successful people you know are messing with dope, then I'd say they may have the brains, but are seriously lacking in the wisdom department.
Out of all my acomplishments, trials and tribulations in life, messing with dope is what I consider the most wretchedly ignorant thing I've ever done, and I've done some pretty risky and wild stuff in my day.

I've done 10x worse than weed
I've often considered drinking worse than smoking pot. But that's not what the law says!
Yeah, I must say for someone who also believes in nonmedical marijuna use that I have also done well for myself. I've held down a respectible job for three years, almost finished my college degree, and now run my own business. It's just a matter of not abusing it and being responsible about it. But I used to be addicted to other drugs until I hit rock bottom, which basically explains my score.

Effects, to me, anyways aren't all that similar. No more so than any other drug (true the more hardcore drugs have a stronger effect, it is still just a mind altering thing). I think weed is safer than alcohol (easier to drive high than drunk, never heard of someone dieing from weed poisioning) but I prefer alcohol due to it being less illegal (under 21) and that it kills less brain cells than weed. I do think weed should be legal and the US govn't should stop worrying about how to tax every little thing.

I find the effects much different. You lose a lot of coordination, start thinking with your pants and can die from drinking alcohol. No one has ever died from smoking pot, yet alcohol kills 75,000 Americans each year
Just doesn't make sense to have alcohol legal and send people to jail for smoking pot. Or listen to the song "The Irony of it All" by the Streets. It will explain it.

Actually, pot DOES NOT kill brain cells:

", but they did show degeneration of the nerve connections between brain cells in the hippocampus"
It may not technically kill brain cells but it makes you stoopider sooner than alcohol consumption does.

I, too, have done far worse drugs than smoking weed, and those drugs are the ones I stay away from, as they can seriously alter your mood, and daily outlook on life. Considering the length of time I have smoked, and the amount I smoke (just ask anyone who was at CougarFest), I still function fine throughout my day, and every night I produce at least 500 to 1000 lines of the most complex code you've seen, while high. Intelligence and Wisdom... Or as I call 'em Book Smarts and Street Smarts. Knowledge is useless if you cannot properly apply it to life. I busted my ass when I was younger, and gave up some experiences because of it, so that I could be where I am today, still young, able to party my ass off, and I never have to worry about money. What could be better? Oh yeah, free pot. E1
