I spend time on CEG daily, so I have searched and read and know the basics about RedLine MTL vs Ford Honey vs Mobil1 vs. ATF+3.
Here's the specific question I have: When it's really cold outside, and you start your car, and of course you blip the throttle, and run it through the gears with the clutch in... after all that:
Which fluid is the best to prevent crunching into 1st and 2nd gear? Stock it was poor. I tried Ford honey, it was worse. Right now I'm using RedLine MTL, which is the best when warm but still poor when cold. I have to really concentrate going into 2nd until I've driven a few miles, otherwise I get a crunch and/or gear grind. I want to try either Mobil 1 with FM or dino ATF+3. Which one do you all suggest?
Frankly I do NOT care about long term tranny longevity. I want the tranny to shift into gear as easily/smoothly as possible when cold.
Thanks
Brian
