Thank you, that makes two of us. I'm always suspicious when I read something from a local news site. If it were simply a case of "she put a pic of the Prez on a bulletin board," of course I'd agree with everyone here. But the administrator would have to be the dumbest, least professional administrator ever to ask her to leave just for that. Maybe someone can dig up more info on one of their politically extreme sites

I bet if Bush was holding up a pack of condoms with a caption saying "Have sex, but use condoms please", the picture would have been completely acceptable.

Then, by that point, Nader's picture should be on the wall. Also Gore, Perot, Dole, Dukakis (sp?), Jesse Jackson, and every other person who has run for President.
The idea of this board was Presidents of the USA, not the could have been, should have been, or might have been.

She was on the O'Reilly show. The picture was on a bulletin board with other government relating things such as the constitution, a poster with the signatures of all the presidents, things like that, nothing pro Bush or anything remotely related to the election.
Here's a clue to what happened, she's NOT a member of the teachers union, which explains a lot as to why she recieved no support and got the boot. I wouldn't be a bit suprised that the Union was looking for any way to get rid of a non union teacher and used their own influence. GO UNION!

I hate Bush, but what happened to that woman is BS. Are the parents worried that she's going to make the middle schoolers vote differently in the election? Middle schoolers shouldn't even have to worry about bipartisanship and politics. I hope the ACLU sues the school that fired her.

I agree, the story contradicts itself a little as well. Quote:
It happened on a small bulletin board near the American flag and also with a poster of the Declaration of Independence
and then Quote:
hanging a picture of President Bush next to pictures of other presidents in her classroom.
The picture in question:
It appears to be one of those "signed" pictures they send out to registered party members (my stepfather gets them sometimes as a registered republican whom donates). Perhaps this was the cause because it is not your typical textbook headshot. Its hard to tell with such inconsisent reporting in the story

Wow, a signed picture of the President and First Lady. It still is consistent with the other things, such as the poster containing the signatures of the president. It's a unique item for a classroom to have.

Do you fail to understand that the subject at hand is not about our "commander and chief's" actions? Like it or not, GWB is President and has a rightful place on the wall with our previous Presidents. If Gore won in 2000, he would have a place on that wall as much as anyone. Until Kerry is elected President, he has no right to be placed up on that wall. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.
I agree here^

I would like to add this to my list of why New Jersey is the shittiest state in the Union and why I never plan on spending one dollar there, much less living there. I'm just kidding, New Jerseyites, so take it easy. But seriously, the thing about the teacher's union doesn't surprise me. I would not be shocked to learn that its memebers carry around a copy of "The little red book."
