IMO you are better off making it out of PVC piping and fittings.
You can't do that....When PVC heats up beyond normal operating range, it give off fumes that will cause all kinds of problems and destroy your cats. Trust me, I found that out the hard way on my old T-Bird. PVC is not an option. You can have the metal intake coated with foam insulation (like the Iceman Intake) or Jet-Hot Coated or something.
