The collective boner of the leftists in this thread is amazing. The immediate effect of the debates is certain: Kerry appears more favorable, etc. But the long-lasting effects will only hurt Kerry. You can't "say anything" to gain style points, which Kerry did, and not expect the other side to call him on it. You'll see some excellent ads in the next few days from the RNC that will make Kerry and his followers wish the debate didn't happen.

Everyone pitching a "pants tent" really has no idea how elections work. Until you see Wisconsin, Iowa, and other blue states going back into the Kerry column, you should hold your wads. Then you have to think about taking Florida or Ohio.

You W. supporters don't get it. This issue is (was) Bush's strong issue. The hardest debate for Kerry by far, Kerry has won his hardest challenge the first debate.

Bush is going to have a very difficult task of swaying anyone, when they debate domestic policy. Bush canâ??t win on policy at home, because it does not exist. The â??No Child Left Behind actâ? , he quit funding it. All the environmental rules he has ruled back.

All these ads will be are more flip flop ads. This republican notion if your against the war, you don't support the troops is crap. They keep trying to pound this into people, and its not working.

Bush looked like a real idiot during this debate, rolling his eyes. The mumbling, asking for more time then saying nothing or repeating what he said 3 minutes earlier. Remember how is father played out in 92, when he checked his watch and gave the same impression W gave.
