Who actually changed their vote based on the debate? Nobody I know.

That site has yet to be updated to reflect any polls since the debates when Kerry gained back more than 5% according to some polls. And the first debate was the one that everyone expected Bush to be able to hold his ground on. If the trend holds, it will be a very close race come November. It's looking to be another decided by the electoral vote.

Debates aren't supposed to "change" votes -- they're meant to get the vote of that 20-some-odd percent that hasn't decided yet.

"According to the latest Newsweek poll..." Because we all know how 'not liberally biased' Newsweek is.

Consider that, according to the same source MSNBC, Kerry was down by 8% just 2 weeks ago. To now be ahead by 2 is a considerable net gain. That's huge considering that everyone expected the first debate to be Bush's strongest one. I'd be interested in some more polling results, particularly by some conservative outlets, to see if they all show somewhere close to the same thing.

I think after the downward decline in Kerry's polling results throughout the month of September the GOP was getting a little lax. Should be interesting what happens in the next two debates.

This is a riot! Two weeks go you were raving about how Bush had such a great LEAD. How all these polls meant something.

Now that Kerry wiped out Bush's lead, there crap.

Sounds like flip-flopping to me.

Why do I get the impression that you'd have a totally different opinion about those polls if they showed John Flip-flop Kerry in the lead? Given that the polls are from Time and Newsweek, which are not exactly known for being Conservative leaning pubs, I'd say that they're believable.

From Sept 04. Regarding the double digit Bush lead.

I hate to say it, but President Bush really stunk in that debate. Kerry is one slick debater. Painful to watch.

Of course I am still going to vote for Bush. Kerry does express himself well and he is really good at pointing out the mistakes our country has made in Iraq and yes, even with our Allies. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Despite that, I would not trust Kerry ONE BIT to make the right decisions if he gained office. Not to mention all those problems with the democratic party. Clinton was also one smooth talking SOB.

Bush stutters and frankly has problems speaking in public. We all know that. He is also the best choice to make the hard decisions to come. IQ is not everything - and that's for damn sure.
