I'm sure 100% of kids your age would take care of the rental car . Most kids your age (I'm guilty of this too) will be the snot out of the thing. People over 25 are supposed to be more mature.

So it cuts losses for them...

just like insurance rates!

So a 20-70$ fee per day doesnt cover that?

You can rent a truck

You only have to be 18 to rent one of those. I'm pretty sure one of those 15' box trucks has additional seating for 4. Pimpin in FL!

Honestly, you could try a local rental company to see if they'll rent to you. Expect to pay through the nose since they know they've got you by the balls.

Here you go: http://www.e-zrentacar.com/flpolicies.html

Thanks for the link; Im going to Melbourne where they dont have a location but at least its a start. And driving one of those box trucks around sounds pretty cool actually, I guess I could steal alot of TVs while I was there.

*EDIT* Heres something I just thought of; if theyre so worred about having teenagers thrash their cars , why dont they just make you show a proof of travel like a plane ticket so they know its in necessity not LAWLs.

Try hitting up a local ford dealer. If they have a rental car division (some do) their rates are reasonable ($25/day for a focus) and all you have to do is be 18 with proof of insurance. I have done it twice (once when I was 20 and last year, when I was 22) Never had a problem.

Whats the reason to not allow rentals under 25?

insurance studies show that people under 25, especially men, are much more likely to get into an accident. it's the rental companies protecting their interest. comprende?

Oddly enough you can rent a UHaul though. I've rented 4 since I have been 18, including a 26' diesel 5-speed
