2) it's not as cut and dry as it may seem to disect a voting record without looking at all the other variables influencing the votes, it's virtually impossible to have a view into everything happening in the background.

3) i'd rather hold him to his current platform, as long as he doesn't say 'no new taxes' i think he'll be alright.

1) Yes, Bush's failing is as a commmunicator not a leader..
2) True, but with Kerry it is not any single vote but a pattern. Plain and simple the most left leaning overall record in the Senate by non-partisan analysis. Is this out of context...perhaps. Example you wanted? Explain his vote on Gulf War I? Sadam had invaded a neighbor. He had been actively using WMD. He threatened the OPEC oil reserves we rely on. We built a coalition. It had UN support. Kerry votes NO GO. Out of context?? Other variables??? OK, foreward to 1994, soon after WTC-1. Kerry personally proposes such sweeping cuts to intell..7 billion worth IIRC, that it recieved NO support. Not even from fellow uber-lib Ted Kennnedy. Context? Were we TOO INTELLIGENT? How about the 87 billion...this was not a "misspeak" as Kerry said in the debate. It was a vote. Yes or NO to supply equipement to the troups (about 2/3 of the money). Kerry says he wanted to link the spending to tax hikes. OK, fine...but his proposal was shot down in congress, and was not the bill being voted on. To vote NO does not mean that we say OK lets do it Kerrys way and raise taxes too. It would have ment NO BODY ARMOUR, NO AMM, NO WHATEVER for the number of months needed to start over again agin in Congress to get some new legislation through. Kerry knew this, he voted as he did for spite. Context? The context is he did it because he is a spitefull ASS!

20 YEARS is a long time to be weak on defense and try and blame on proper context. At some point, a pattern is clear.

3) So NO...I think it is much more LIKELY his current hawkish platform is FRAUDULENT that his PRIOR PATTERN is the true Kerry, and I simply do not believe his current stance no matter how eliquently he delivers it. I think he remains the antiwar activist he was 30 years ago, talking with the VietCong in Paris. At the DNC convention, I believe he shoulf have said "I protested against my country as a young man, and as President I will protest agains her today!"
