In a word, yes.

true the debates will count for something, but imo they'll only function to solidify peoples belief that kerry can do a better job than bush. if bush can't handle himself in a pre-scripted debate then how can we expect him to properly run our country which is a much more difficult task? mistakes will be made no doubt, but would someone else have done a better job, that's the question...we're about to find out in a couple months.

Again, the debates seem to be the "litmus test" for a large portion of the undecided. In the sort-term, it never matters how well thought-out your ideas are, so long as you can present them FAR better than your opponent.

This is nothing but good news for Kerry.

and funny how you guys continuously talk about kerry's past voting record like his past is the end all be all of the current.

For me, it is. His voting record absolutely sucks as far as I'm concerned. He's a screaming lefty on just about every issue around.

just like bush's past dui and cocaine usage have nothing to do with his current lifestyle right?

??? You're losing me here. Since when does personal choices that have since been rectified parallel another person's voting record that hasn't been apologized for?

Are you suggesting that Kerry owes the American people an apology for being liberal?

it's not as cut and dry as it may seem to disect a voting record without looking at all the other variables influencing the votes, it's virtually impossible to have a view into everything happening in the background. i'd rather hold him to his current platform, as long as he doesn't say 'no new taxes' i think he'll be alright.

Oh, c'MON! Kerry isn't a liberal because he's being FORCED to be one! His voting record speaks for itself! You're certifiable if you think even half the votes he has taken part in have "coerced" him into voting a few clicks left of left.

anyway i guess i'll check out tonight's bash fest between dick and john for some political entertainment.

Same here. Cheney better come off the leash and eat Edwards up if the GOP has got a hope in November.
