If Kerry doesnt start answering the questions and making up his mind im gonna have a heart attack. I think bush is keeping on topic and giving a good debate

polling shows that the majority of presidential debate viewers take into account more their emotions, tone, sincerity etc rather than the points, unless something catastrophic jumps out of one of the candidates mouths what they're saying is the same ole same ole yadda yadda we've heard for 9+ months now...

I think Kerry is doing a lot more solid job, he is staying a lot more composed, and staying on target a little bit better I think.

I think he is also "bending" the facts to suit him a little bit more than Bush is.

I just wish Clinton ran again

The post-debate spin was predictable. The underlying agreement though is that Bush had the opportunity to knock Kerry out of the race and didn't. I get nervous when watching W on a grand stage because so does he: his pauses are always incredibly uncomfortable, as well as some of his facial expressions. Because of this, he often blurs the substance.

I think Kerry did do himself a favor tonight, but that favor was not getting blown out of the water. The race will certainly tighten up, Kerry will be once-again labled "Comeback Kerry". But he has to reverse the devastating momentum that Bush had going into these debates. I don't think three debates can do that, as the internals in all polls were terrible for Kerry. But that will all remain to be seen....

EDIT: And as far as debating the substance of the debate, I think that's pointless. There was nothing said that hadn't been said and/or debated before.

Yeah his pauses are uncomfortable but seem to be the norm for him. I think some of his facial expressions actually helped him.

Agreed with the edit.

I think this debate was pretty useless. Kerry wavered a couple of times, like always. He also kept saying how he would do the war different and get troops out quicker (and going back on his 6 month thing), though he never said how. I could stand up there and say that I would win a war and have everything fine in a week. Doesn't mean anything unless I back it up.

He specifically stated that he wouldn't go into it because he didn't have time and that details were available on his website. And he didn't "go back" on the 6 month pullout thing -- his stance has always been a "reduction" in troops beginning in 6 months. Probably not feasible, but that's his plan.

I think Bush's oratory skills were leaps and bounds above he's displayed in the past which is great for him considering how close the race will likely turn out -- he needs every vote he can get. But Kerry was still "better" if one were to score the debate.

All in all not a very good debate as it was too terribly scripted.

Ok I checked out the site and it doesn't really say anything more than what Bush is trying to do. I think we'll all agree it's hard to get things right over there. I think it's stupid that Kerry would even act like he could do a whole lot different over there. Only thing I really see him saying is get other countries to help, etc. Well I didn't know we could really force countries to help. I thought that was their choice.

I'm not sure how kerry "won" the debate, except maybe for just speaking and all, which in that case he would "win" every debate against bush.

And I didn't notice anything about the 6 month thing on his website. It was stupid of him to throw out any number like that.

Here is the best debate analysis I have read so far. Pretty accurate and humorous, in my opinion.
Keeping Score
