That is pretty good. My favorite quote: "I want both!"

In my humble opinion, Kerry did nothing more than make himself look like more of an idiot than normal. He wouldn't directly answer questions, just yakked about NOTHING that had anything to do with the questions at hand. It was hilarious.
Yes, maybe Kerry is a better public speaker than Bush, but I think people can see through his snakey charms and see who the REAL man for the job, BUSH.

I love how Kerry blamed Bush for the body armor thing, when Kerry was the one who voted AGAINST the troops getting body armor. My hub & I, and apparently the President, LAUGHED when he said that. Just another one of Kerry's flip flops.

All in all not a very good debate as it was too terribly scripted.

+1

my favorite part was when kerry mentioned why gwb's dad didn't go deep into iraq the first time and the look on bush's face was like..don't talk about my dadddy! lol!

<<Insert Al Gore signature sigh here>> The only reason he voted against it was that W wanted to put it on the national credit card instead of finding the money elsewhere. It's called fiscal responsibility! Our country would be better off if Bush would "flip flop" (change mind in light of new information) a little bit.

Bush came off better than I hoped, but he's still got a ways to go at presenting his ideas to the public. I was getting pretty agitated with some of the constant repetition of points that he made, using the EXACT same verbage every time.

In terms of pure presentation, Kerry nailed this one. In terms of substance, he really tossed out some stinkers in terms of "facts" and "statistics" and was entirely too generic.

Wow, some people are just so closed minded. Why even watch the debate when you watch it with blinders on?

GWB has a SMALL coalition including England, Poland, Australia and a few other small nations. The US still accounts for over 90% of the troops and funding of the war. The UN gave GWB the chance for help, but GWB would not allow them to take over the mission. He felt that we started it without the UN, so they should not take over.

Now, Kerry wants to ask the UN for help. Whats wrong in that? They should have some say in how the War is run if they contribute troops and aid. The US can NOT do it alone. If Bush can't swallow his pride and ask for help when it is needed, then we need someone who will. Why should we and our children shoulder the burden of the war???

What was Bush's reply to Bin Laden? Why have we pulled most of our troops out of Afghanistan and "outsourced" the work to Afghan "Army"? We had the guy cornered in the mountains, and now we can't find him? Bush concentrated too much on Iraq and its WMD (still can't find them) instead of finding the MASTERMIND of 911. WHY?????

My wife said that Reagan vs. Mondale in their first debate went much the same way...Reagan just didn't pull it off. Of course, two debates and a month later, Reagan took 49 states.
