Dish soap is great for stripping the wax off, but unfortunately it also strips the vital oils out of the plastic and rubber trim pieces. I would highly recommend AGAINST using the Dawn. A much better approach is to use a multi-step system: wash car w/ car soap (Meguiars NXT soap works real nice), then do some sort of mild paint cleaner to remove the old wax (Meguiars #9 for example), and then finally top that off w/ the wax. If you want to go all out, throw in a polish after the cleaner and before the wax. Takes a little more time, but the results are much better! Have you tried the clay bar yet? Unbelievable results (in terms of surface smoothness)!
