After searching like a madman, most headlight posts are related to bulbs and not the full headlight housing. My passenger side h eadlight has some type of crack or leak and it fills with water and the bulbs have blown out. I don't want my whole electrical system to get fried. I h ave had no luck with getting a headlight at junkyards near me, anyone know the best place to buy one It is a 99 tour

After doing more searching I see a lot about "sealing" the headlights. Is there an easy way to do this. My lights practically got filled with water the other day when i washed the car so I guess its a pretty bad leak or something?

Thanks

Well, at this point i would say you got nothing to lose with the light, so i would fill the whole lamp with water (obviously take the bulbs out), and hold it in different positions to see where it leaks from. Then go crazy with the silicone.

Also to find used ones: www.car-part.com

Just today I replaced both of my headlight assemblies on my 1998 Contour SE Sport. After much research and help from this forum, I chose to go the route of new assemblies from Ford. I got lucky. My mechanic/friend,who does all work I can't do, on both my Contour and my Escort, bought them for me at his cost. Retail from Ford is $180.00 each, with the discount, $140.00 each. I am very happy as they were of course exact fit and new. No more haze. Also, a company listed here under mods/parts http://www.batinc.net/contour.htm (British American Transfer) has after market light assemblies for, I believe, $124.00 each. Check it out. I know that in some cases after markets don't fit exactly or that is my experience. Any headlight assemblies I found from salvage yards were listed as a whole lot less than perfect. That's what I already had.
I hope this has helped in some way....Steve

You might try Ebay. I got one off of there last week, a little hazy but for 20 bucks you cant expect perfection. As soon as I buff it out it should look like new.
