Nobody will ever confuse a 3.0 block with a 2.5L. The pistons are 20% bigger (the 3.0 is simply bored larger than 2.5; stroke is the same). The block is clearly marked/cast with 3.0 markings. I don't know if a Ford dealer would actually go for doing the work, since they aren't a "Ford approved" assembly.
SHO Shop had my block on a truck two weeks after I placed my order. Of course, it took another week to go from West Coast to East Coast. Gaskets, head bolts came later.
