1.5 seconds difference? Car & Driver managed to flog a 5.4 second 0-60 time out of the WRX, and IIRC the 2.5RS does it in the 8 second range.

Enjoy it anyway. MTX or ATX?

No it's not???

It's significantly slower.

Mid 8's 0-60 and low 16's in the 1/4 mile. Those are magazine corrected times.

That's slower then non-SVT V6 MTX's.

Don't get me wrong we're looking at a Subaru (Legacy GT wagon) for our next car but a little realism goes a long way.

A base Impreza will do 140?

Seriously jaded new owner here. So the WRX will shave 1.5 seconds off? If a base Impreza will do 140 please send a non photoshoped pic. I've killed 2.5 RS's back in 2 door form. Wasn't even funny. I'd love an older 2 door with a WRX swap though.

When its time, the WRX wagon will be my SVT replacement as well. It is the perfect combination of sport and utility (for the dog/kayaks/bikes/Lowe's run/etc.). I've got a few more years to enjoy my SVT, but when its time is done I'll be joining you!

Once I was a true blue ford man. Two years ago I picked up an 04 Forester (built on the imprezza platform) for my wife. After living with it for two years and on occasion getting to drive it, I have to confess I am a subbie convert. The Forester is a chick car but my overall impression of Subaru is the build quality and engineering is tremendous. It took a lot to get me to buy outside of ford but Im glad I did. I think I had six recalls on the mystique in the first two years of ownership. My mystique replacement will be the larger Legacy turbo. I just hope GM keeps there hands off subbie and dont turn it into the new olds.

have you fixed your ford lately?

That's a completely polar switch.

That's akin to saying I was looking to buy an new G35 but ended up with an 84 Camaro. They have nothing in common except having 4 wheels.

Well my complaints about the Contour are not enough hauling room and not enough horsepower. So the F-150 solves the hauling and the Mustang solves the horsepower. Plus I can't stand to get rid of my Contour since it's such a good driver and it's been such a great car.

See, very simple!
