And the CTA design is different? It's a cone filter in the engine compartment exposed to the same dirt and temperatures, and is placed in the same location as the stock intake box.

I'm just saying any mod of that type and those with cone filters also.

Blah.. I can do without noise. I'd rather sneek up on people and blow them away.

My advice, don't spend any money on doing stuff to your stock intake. That could include cutting holes in it, cuz you will have to buy a k&n or replace the paper filter sorta often. Just don't touch it until you get a CTA or other decent intake, save your money.

anybody know of any other intake kit other then a CTA? I looked around a little and only could fine stuff for a focus.... and im pretty sure there are minor differences that will make the intake not work they way it should. I would like to be able to shop around a little and see if I cant find a better deal before I just buy the first thing that I like.

KURTZ KUSTOMZ Has a biznatchin' intake. I don't even know what a CTA is. (How common is Slapping someone with a fish that it needs a graemlin?)

man... If I were McGuyver, I could make a high performance intake from a Toothpick.. a papertowel, and some bits of string.

I have a 92 SHO that I drilled about 6 3/4 inch holes in the front of the box below the K&N filter. I got the idea from a Mustang performance magazine from like 93' Sounded good and it sort of felt like it pulled a bit better at higher RPM's. Not bad for free I guess.

No man a Paperclip. Don't forget it!

Anyways. No others than that Kurtz thing just mentioned, which is unheard of before now, you're stuck with CTA and Foci stuff.

As for having the change the filter often. I thought K&N are replacable every 1 million miles . Sure you may need to clean it more often but even they say every 50-100,000 miles. 1nce a year to clean a filter is better than fram garbage. imho
