All you people need to give this guy a break. He just lost his car he put so much money into, like the rest of you. If he owed that much money why would he take out all the stuff and burn it? He would only make minimal profit if any. I've tried to sell some of my aftermarket stuff and you get nothing near what you paid for it. Everybody knows that insurance don't give you sh!t either. Feel for ya man.

] Are those your old tires? Looks like they could get some prints off of those wheels too, they dont looked burned to bad (some). It surely was someone YOU KNOW!!They knew what they were after and what you had, plus they surely own a Contour prob not an SVT,they know what the diff between a non and svt is because they went straight for the heads and intake!! Keep your eyes peeled fellas, look for these wheels.Help this guy out!! Plus the Insurance Co will prob reward you,if he/she(ha) is convicted! Did you etch you serial # on the wheels?

Sorry again Jesse. Just to let everyone know what you can do with the right Contour knowledge... Intakes, half hour tops... valve covers and cams, hour tops. I'd better explain that one: Remove all of the cam retainer bolts and caps, lift on the trans side of the cam for leverage, viola, cams! It's not the recommended way to remove them because your timing chains, tensioners, cam gears, and cam journals could all be damaged, but hey, what'd they care, right? That leaves 2.5 hours to get the wheels and was there sterio stuff gone too? Been down those roads since I lost a couple of sterio systems a few years back. Three words for that portion of it: hack, cut, bust.
I for one could have accomplished it myself if I were motivated by theiving ways, as I believe anyone with mechanical aptitude and basic Contour knowledge could have as well. I also am motivated to believe Jesse's story because his wheels we stolen... someone asked "who has Contour wheels laying around anyway?" Answer? Any one of thousands of E0 Contour owners have those wheels, why would it be so hard to believe someone would sacrifice their stock wheels for aftermarket ones? How many people on these boards keep their old wheels either for autocross, winter wheels, or just sitting in the corner waiting for the day you sell it?
Someone else gave me an excellent idea that I hadn't thought of though... serial numbers on my wheels. Thanks guys and good luck Jesse.

This should have been kept in the other post but oh well. That is pretty spectacular that someone got all those parts off in 4 hours! I guess with a team that knew what they were doing it's quite a long time. It's also amazing that they didn't slap on some steel GL 14" instead of EO wheels. EO's are the rarest since they were only manf. for 1/2 a year. I would guess that these people would be somewhat easy to find since these parts are so scarce. I wonder if they surf this forum and are reading this. The cams and intake alone make me feel like they are breathing on all our necks. I understand you guys being leary of this but you have to remember most of thses people do this for a living. You know studies show that a car can be striped in about 30 minutes with about a 4 man team. These guys were really moving that's for sure and had planned this for a while.

man you guys read WAY to into things. his car was stolen and stripped. who ever did that should be brought to justice. with proper tools and the right people you could get anything you want off a car in four hours, and still have time to drive and burn it. show some sympathy... his toy was violated! quit trying to anaylize everything and show a little compassion... leave the crime solving and investigating to the professionals.
sorry about your car man.

I don't mean to sound ignorant but I thought the SVT requires the key to start it. Some kind of chip imbedded in the key. How did they start it if this true?

HMMMMMMMMMMMM! Forgot that one! Didnt he have an after market alarm too?maybe not, just guessing. Also if they took the cams out,how did they get it to where it was to burn it?Tow it? So now we are looking for a guy with a tow truck too?Add that to the time frame.its weird the door guy at the club saw him pull up to the club but a few minutes later didnt see the theives break into or somehow steal his car( the theif would have of took it as soon as he walked into the club for the 4 hour time frame to work,he was in the club 4 hours),he did say the door guy knew him right,so why not question some "other"(didnt he park at the front door?)person getting into or driving away in his car.I would go ask the door guy if he saw anyone? Also did you loose any keys anywhere? Did you buy the car used?If so the previous owner may have a key,do you know where the person lives who you bought it from if it was bought used,go steak out his house!!!Or alert the police. Sorry to hear about your car though.I had someone hit and run my MR-2 and total it,I not the police found the guy,6 hours later. He left behind a piece of his front light assembly,it said Ford right on it,I showed it to a couple Ford guys they said its from an 80,s T-bird,so off i went looking for a tbird, found one with a wrecked front and in the grill was my MR-2s tail light!!The police didnt believe me,they thought I put it there! The guy admitted to it.I was lucky! GOO DLUCK!keep us posted

E0's do in fact have PATS/Securilock. Either this thing was towed, there was a spare key floating around, or they used a code grabber (which means they were around when the car was started). They sure did their homework, either way. I hope they end up in a fiery hell for this.
