Dish soap??

LOL... I think you can use some dish washer soaps?

I've been wanting to try that new hose thingy that filters the water for a spot free shine.

I've always said, "Treat your wheels like you treat the paint of your car."

Anyone who knows anything about car care will tell you to use a quality car soap or non-acidic wheel cleaner with a nice wash mitt.

Follow with a nice coat of wax of some kind.

Leave the dish soap in the kitchen.

Extra mitt - $3-4
One cap full of car soap - 5 cents?

Under $5.

Follow up with an occassional coat of wax - $5 per year?

Good assurance that $1500 worth of wheels are well taken care of.

Yeah, dish soap'll mess up your paint. Used to use it on my old car -- bad idea...

But back to the A2Z thing. I used to use their "C" type cleaner for painted wheels and never had a problem with it. Apparently they've discontinued that now in favor of their A2Z stuff, so I bought some. I've used it 2-3 times straight outta the spray bottle, and the last two times I did I noticed nasty streaks and runs on the wheels! Has anyone else noticed this? It didn't just wipe off either. I had to wash and scrub on them again without using A2Z. The most recent time I washed my car, I diluted the A2Z with some water, and I didn't notice any streaking. I don't know if I got a batch of it that's too strong or what. It has also left spots on the car's paint where I tried to remove some crud. I used to use the "C" type stuff to remove bugs from the front bumper, but this new junk seems WAY stronger than the old stuff. Way TOO strong. I'd much rather have the "C" type back!

How long did you let the A2Z sit on the wheel? Supposed to only be 30 seconds then spray it off with a strong stream of water. I've had no problems using wheel cleaners in the past.

But like I said, keep the wheels protected and clean them regularlly and all you should need is car wash soap and a soft brush to clean em up.

wheel cleaner info i use the blackfire stuff and its fantastic. its also a tire cleaner so u dont have to buy a separate product for the tires. i only use this stuff when wheel is heavily dirty and carwash shampoo wont cut it (usually when i go a long time without cleaning, try to avoid this happening but it happens). otherwise wax with wheel wax wheel wax and clean wheels weekly-carwash soap should get the job done. and i LOVE, LOVE these microfiber gloves gets into the spokes very easily. i get the back of the spokes and the inside wheel.

the p21s has a good reputation too. i use it for my winter wheels

i recall reading the a2z used to contain acid or butyl but the new formula doesnt have this stuff so it should be a good product to use.

i was far from impressed with the hot rims.
