I had 6 1/2 speakers in the rear doors, but decided against rear fill so I pulled them out. Thinking back on what the rear door was like, I see 2 issues with these subs in the rear doors. 1) Getting them to fit with enclosures and 2) some type of dynamat material would need to be put on for vibrations.
IMO that seems like 2 much work when can just put a single 8" sub on the rear deck.
Not sure how they would sound in a free-air(IB) application.
