There is no way to properly run balance tubes on a transversely mounted engine because the rear pipe will always run hotter than the front. Also, I can't believe that it has to be in the hottest location b/c stock cars run their x-pipes farther downstream. On our cars, since space is limited and the engine is sideways, I have been advised to just find a convinient spot that packages well and leave it at that. That comes from someone who works on prototype racing and drag vehicles. Believe it or not, your choice. smile
