Judge. What is the RPM limit of the stock damper? I have a good feeling it's 7k. The real reason why they didn't raise redline. (especially in the 00 SVT with it's higher CR and peak HP RPM) I think this looks like a good opportunity to get a damper that can safely give me more redline. Plus reduce crank whip at the same time. It is also compatible with the 3L swap (higher CR yet - needing more RPM's to work with) and keeps the 2.5L FEAD design... Now if you have a line on a acceptable under-driven billet aluminum dampened crank pulley. I am all ears as well...

Now you see guys, that's Over Board!!!Burntnuts loves to talk smack, but I tell you what, in my presence he would wish he never said that!!!! Lucky you no live Hawaii!! I think I will simply disregard that comment as childs play for now. Of course until Burnt provides me with a number I can contact him with, so we can meet up some time, and I'll show him how much of a fag I really am!!!

Judge is a Senior Engineering Technician, that's great. Still his comment degraded the worth of the product to only but a few members who have NOS, Vortech, 3.0 conv. and so forth. That's where I disagree. Even in stock form, many can benefit from this unit, even at the price tag. I'm simply providing factual info to the community.

Now if I've run about 37000 miles with NO dampening at all (UR UDP), why do you think you need to pay alot of money for even more dampening than whats in the stock unit? Higher rpm's doesn't really cut it either, as the harmonics point (ask judge for number) is much lower in the rpm band. What it comes down to IMHO is a $/hp call. Me? - obviously I'm taking the informed risk of blowing my engine all to h@ll by running my evil UR UDP - but that's just me

Hey Scott thats great. Personally I currently use the URD and love it as well, and haven't had any problems yet. I do like to point out that I race the car alot, the main reason why I started this whole thing. The fact is if you like what you read about this product than let me know, the product should be available in about a month, if you don't, that's up to you. Some look at it as an expensive downside, personally I look at it as an expensive plus, because I feel I'm getting my moneys worth. I was able to justify spending over $200 on the URD, now I have more than enough reason to justify spending about $300 on this. I buy the best stuff to keep my paint happy, I'll buy the best stuff to keep my engine happy, REV Happy that is

How about "I smoke like a fiend but I never got lung cancer" or "I drink like a fish but never got cirrhosis" or "I shoot up heroine with needles I find in the trash and never got AIDS" - Why should I clean up my act!
But research has shown all the above to be risk factors for bad things, including the lack of a damper.

I still want to hear Terry and Judge's opinion on the RPM limit of the stock damper.
Or was Scott right in saying that the harmonics are lower in the RPM band?
Thanks, Patrick

Eh-eh - your argument falls apart there, as I wasn't suggesting you all run with no dampeners, just that there hasn't been a single failure from ANYONE who has. -SO- My real point, if there is that much safety built in, why would you assume that you need even more dampening than the stock Ford unit provides?????? Which leaves you with..... is the ~5 hp you might? get (fisher is going to be heavier than the 15 oz's of the UR unit for sure) from the fisher worth 300-350 dollars to you?
