Don't know if you have a 2.5 or 2.0L but mine doesn't work either and it's a 2.0...i haven't gotten around to fixing it but mine is caused by a broken connector thats not plugged in to the temp sender. Mine seemed to be very brittle and that could possibly be your problem too. The temp sender on a 4cyl is located on the underside of the thermostat housing which is bolted to the head...should be easy to identify.
