I wouldn't even give it a 3. I can't stand the cowl hoods. Gaps with that amount of money too. Anyway, for what it's worth, I hope you come up with a fix.

man, i was practically sold on that hood. i had one on my 98 accord and it fit like a factory hood. this one looks great but i dont want to have to fiddle wit da fenders. i wish you good luck and i think for your cost of investment and how good it looks you should definitely try to get it right.

I have a huge gap on the drivers siode too, but I need to adjust it better, AND I'm, taking off the hood lift struts as they aren't required anymore and just cause you to flex the hood when you go to close it. I need to tweak the fenders too. All the same I think the hood is sharp and I wouldn't go back.

If you pull the hood forward to line it up correctly with the oval and headlights, it doesn't line up at all by the cowl. And vice-versa. You just have to find a "middle ground".
The width can be "fixed" by adjusting your fenders.
Unfortuantely, when a mold is used, it's tough to get it exactly right.
Pete is speaking of my car...my OEM hood fit perfect front to back and side to side. My gaps were very small and even, now they are huge. The biggest gaps are front to back and definitely the worst. If I line the back edge of the hood up with the end of the fender curve like the OEM hood was it is about 1" from the oval in the front. The rubber gasket on the oval has about a 1/4" gap between it and the edge of the hood If I move it forward the ruber seal in the back is not touching the hood. The hood is definitely shorter then the OEM hood by at least 1/2" maybe even more. The side gaps can be reduced by moving the fenders a little but front to back it looks like you are screwed. If I decide to paint my hood it will look like crap because the gaps will look gigantic...unpainted they don't stand out as much. I'm with everyone else on the reverse dip/scoop when they say it would look much better without it but I will live with it. I like the hood but am not real happy at all with the fit to say the least. Also some smaler items...the latch is not S/S so it is rusting along with the Black non-coated bolts supplied with the hood as well. The back where the cowl opening is not finished or supported and has quite a bit of flex and alsohas exposed raw fiberglass that looks bad.
My hood was 2nd on the list...
