Spray PB blaster around the threads. Let is sit a while, maybe even a couple coats. Do not get it on plastic or rubber stuff. Tap it every once in a while to help the penetrating oil penetrate. Hit it on the hub between the studs but not in the middle.
When you install you new ones put some lithium or some other hit temp lubricant on the hub.
-Andy p.s. PB Blaster and WD40 are not the same thing.

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

You didn't read my last couple of posts, I did exactly that. Everything is done now. I didn't have time to sit there and bleed the brakes along with it being dark out, so I am going to do that today. They aren't bad, the pedal action is a little low, so I am goign to go over that and bleed them a bit today. Thanx again for the suggestions guys!

I bet you BRINELLED THE CRAP out of your wheel bearings beating the hub like that. Just wait bearing failure will be your new friend soon! When I come across a stuck rotor that won't come of with a reasonable amount of beating, I cut the rotor in half with a die grinder and cutting wheel, then use a cold chisel to split the rotor in half. PS - I know what I'm talking about, I'm a bearing engineer.

I wonder if the stuck rotor problems are confined to the salty road northern states? I've had my rotors off of both my contiques more times than one, and I've removed both of them with just my bare hands. No restriction at all. Our roads never see salt, and I just wandered if that's the difference.

+If you plan on keeping your car forever in Ohio, the first you do to your new vehicle is apply anti-seize behind the rotors and anything that gets the good Ole road salt splashed. Life is sooo much easier.

That is a good idea. I intended to do that with the Escape when I installed ceramic pads to cut the dusting when it was about a month old. It was already too late. The rotors were already rusted in place. I guess that it didn't help that it was a winter built car (built in February).
So I still have that project ahead of me when it is time to replace the pads and rotors again. The rotors already have a lot of wear even though there is not much pad wear. Ford didn't learn from the Contiques.

Any sign of failure? So far, everything on the car is great... brakes are awesome again, no rattles or creaks, everything is as it was before... with good brakes.
I didn't have any anti-sieze, so I used wheel bearing grease, I should be at least a little better off than before. Anyway, I would have cut them off with the small exception that I don't have a die grinder, so that wasn't an option without a flat bed tow to a shop, in which case, I should have just had them do it in the first place.

Is there any sign of failue of a wheel bearing? The car seems just fine, about 1k miles and the only thing that seems to need attention are the REAR brakes now! Argh... within 1k, they are gone now too. Looks like I have another lovely brake project this week.
