Its bullsh*t. I voted no. Ive never had a piercing but restricting someones individualuty isn't right. There ARE much more pressing things to worry about in the public school system and this definitaly does not qualify. If this goes on this kid is going to grow up with one hell of a social anxiety dissorder.
My high school had some pretty dumb ass rules but they never restricted anyone from being unique. The only dress code rule I can recall was about girls skirts. If the skirt had a slit on the side it couldn't go above mid thigh.
Over all I think this rull is total BS. America is all about individuality. If the government doesn't have the right to restrict our individuality then the school system shouldn't either. Only the parents should be able to tell their children what and what not to whear, to a certain extent of course.

bottom line: the school says no visible piercings. he agreed to comply and then changed his mind the next day. he knew the rules and chose to ignore them. there is no defense or arguement to present on his behalf.
if he had an issue with the rule then he should have petitioned to have it changed instead of making his obviously poor mother leave the state because he was too self to put anyone but himself first.

i just took a look at the pic and his peircings aren't that bad really. i guess kind of the 'norm' for facial plugs. but the rules are the rules and he has to abide by them or stay home. all this individuality talk rings very hollow to my ears.
reminds me of when i was in highschool and daisy dukes were banned because of the 'distractions' they caused. now that's a rule i could've lived without back then.
here's the kids pic:
these type of peircings are not flattering on a male imo.

Good god are there any young adults in here or is it just a bunch of grown men with wives and picture perfect children of their own. I knwo where this kid is coming from. I've always recieved the kind of negative feed back in high school being a skateboarder and all.

I think its a riduculous rule and that he should not be suspended, but with that said, it is the rule at the school. It is his own fault if he sits in suspension everyday, he could easily take them out or possibly move to another school. If they already traveled 700 miles, what's a few more. Btw, I had multible piercings in 7th-8th grade, including my eyebrow ring, omg! My school never had any problem with it and I had no problems with teachers or students. (Although the eyebrow one did get ripped out later on at a party )

Well, if the piercings make him feel better about himself...
then he must have some messed-up issues.
