Anyway, here is the detail on the cobra. It's a 95 cobra with off road h-pipe, dynomax mufflers(weld in) and k/n filter; that's a little different than marc posted. Sorry, bro.
The time was ran at Milan Dragway (a.k.a ice rink) and it was his FIRST TIME at the track. His 60' was around 2.35-2.45 on stock Goodyear GS-C(pos). Also that car was not running properly at the time, the car would backfire once past 4500 rpm. We later found that the MAF was covered with k/n filter oil which caused the backfiring. Too bad he never took it to the track again since he sold it couple months later.
Here is an example on how that car should've performed when running right; I have a 98 cobra that was running 13.5@104 at the time and I could not pull on him until top of 2nd gear and will only pull 3-4 car lengths on him up to 100-110 mph. So the 95 cobra in doubt could very well got in the high 13s but never got a chance to do so.
But what I don't understand is that why did this tread get turned around to a 95 cobra's time? Weren't we talking about certain someone's quarter mile time with some "secret"
mods? In fact, he still hasn't even respond to whether he is NA or not. Till he respond, I would take his comment with a grain of salt.
Btw, Marc's 60' was 2.1 for that 14.7 run and for you to pull high 2.3 60' and still get 14.4 out of the run will require up to 200 FWHP to do so. It's just the law of physics. Later. Thanks for the info and backup. I am not trying to say that I am a good driver or the best, but I am saying that I can drive my car. When I first took the car to the track last year, I was running what the mags said about the car. 15.5 @88. In time and after lots of practicing, I was able to drop to low 15`s. I know how to launch my car and the right rpm, I also know where and how to shift. All I am saying is that, your times are close to and even identical to a my buddy`s cobra. Now if you want, feel free to come to Norwalk on Friday and watch me run. But I will post the slip so you can see. If you still don`t beleive me, click on the link in my sig, and watch my run...
