I haven't gone all the way through the extras disk yet. But the documentary is worth it.

They are the special editions. Also ROTJ has the new Darth Vader ghost scene installed... a.k.a. Hayden Christensen. Ever notice there are no ghosts in the prequels?

I to have bought all Star Wars movie offerings.... Lucas has plenty of my $$$ But so does Peter Jackson! Come on extended ROTK!!

oh yeah, is this available in widescreen and regular? im buyin everything in ws in hopes that i will own a 65" widescreen someday not too far off...

since i moved, i havent re-connected my surround system. this is the perfect excuse!

check this out: when the re-release of episode IV came out i took a girl to go see it. she was 20, and she had NEVER seen ANY of the Star Wars movies, AT ALL! has anyone else encountered this anomoly? not old people or kids, but a person from gen x who has not seen any of SW movies??

oh yes, IMO, Episode I and II were major let downs except for some minor things. I loved the pod racing scenes and jango fett kicked a$$, i depised the CGI! i think the originial usage of models looked more real.
I hope its true that Jar Jar gets killed in the next episode, or better yet, not even in it all. I read in EW weekely that Darth Vader will be in for about 5 minutes, hope that didnt ruin anyone's day--if it did, sorry.

one more thing, who else is with me when i say that Natalie Portman was the PERFECT casting and is the ultimate woman to play Lea's mother?

The new DVDs are amazing. As I said before, it seems they were made last year, and not almost 30 years ago. They are a must-have for any movie fan.

The legacy of the prequels, and even some in the Star Wars saga, rests in Episode III. Ep. II was an improvement on I but that's not saying much. There were parts of the first two that were worlds better than the Original Trilogy, such as the fight sequences and special effects. But the OT remains supreme.

If Lucas hits a grand slam with Ep. III and equals Empire Strikes Back, then everyone will forget about Episodes I and II and the Star Wars legacy will be saved. But if he fizzles a la Episode I, I may have to try to convince myself that the prequels never happened.

Got mine monday night after 12am - I'm such a nerd!

I did notice that in "A New Hope" that you can't see the little ghost boxes around the tie-fighters like you did on the VHS copies, I thought that was cool. The sound isn't the best, but what do you expect from a movie from the 70's! Video quality was pretty dang good considering.

I can see them, but I'm guessing that's because my TV is starting to go out on me.

I saw them on the Ties, around the Death Star and when the big ship crashed into the death star. It was very annoying. But I heard it's how you have the colors setup on your TV.

I didn't like how they change the Anakin Skywalker ghost at the end. They also changed Boba Fett's voice to match the one in E2. One special feature I liked was the thing about Darth Vader. They showed some behind the scenes stuff from the next movie. They are going to have him wearing the full Darth Vader costume.

Uh...I could see the boxes in my screen. I agree the sound is awsome. Maybe it's a hardware thing. All my video stuff is pioneer.
