How do you inhale while drinking? Don't you choke and die? Or do you mean like take a breath as soon as your done drinking, sorta like you do with vodka to avoid it burning at all.

No. Stick your nose in the glass with the wine and inhale it as you're drawing it into your mouth.

Rioja's rule! The french will never admit it, but often they buy grapes grown in Rioja to addin to their own production during lean or bad years. When living in England we drove to Spain, bought three cases of awesome Riojas and drove right through Bordeaux with out stopping...

I've had a few EXCELLENT Rioja Gran Reservas from the Alta & Alavesa regions. Astoundingly powerful, concentrated wines - not for beginners, that's for sure! I have not had one recently.... Where is that liquor store discount card...

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I didn't know you could do that with vodka...does it work with other shots as well?

And by 'take a breath' do you mean inhale and exhale, or just one or the other, etc??

I just found it to work with vodka (only have to do it the first few shots, after that don't feel it as much).

I mean inhale right after you finish the shot, and well of course breath out at some point, you don't have to hold your breath or anything.

Actually vodka is the only liquor that I do this with besides everclear, other stuff I enjoy the taste and feel.

Ditto....
S. Africa makes some outstanding reds. So does Chile.

I get a great Shiraz here in Vienna out of South Africa. I just got into wines in the last few months. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to drink good Austrian red or white then it is to drink beer, though I love beer. There is also an OVR that I drink here in Vienna out of S. Africa. The place that I go to here in Vienna is http://www.suedwein.at/ the site is in German but if you use a site stranslator or speak German you can see some great South African wines. The Robertson Shiraz 2002 and the Brampton OVR are what I drink when I go there.
