My best was 44 MPG with a Escort sedan tranny in the ZX2. The 3.85 ring and piniona nd tall 5th gear really helped on the highway trips. With the stock ZX2 tranny with a 4.10 diff, I usually got 35-40 MPG highway. Now with the 4.59 diff I rarely see 35 MPG highway. Mostly its around 30 MPG.
