it can't hurt, I'll tell you that much, and if you want someone to do it for you, look at Jesse's company (PnP something or the other, I forgot the website). . .

Is it worth it? Well, look at it this way Y2KSVT ran a 14.49 without PnPed heads (Fidanza, MSDS, Bassani, stock rims) I have only ran a 14.7 (so far, with the SS UIM/LIM, SS flywheel, PnPed heads (for nitrous), and 17" rims. )

...or you could go with an 01+ full 3L and Not pay one penny for having 3L valves installed...

I heard someone did that and ran a fast ET with high trap speed.

Tom used nearly untouched oval port heads (full 01+ 3L) on his 325/330 budget turbo.
He cleaned up the exhaust ports, unshrouded the valves, and matched the intake ports to the split port. Yes an NA engine would like more work done but it shows the capabilities of the stock oval port head design.

If you are talking about building a 2.5L engine then I would just look at the exhaust valves and exhaust porting. The porting is easily done by yourself.

Any quality machine shop can do the new seats.

The intake side on the 99+ SVT heads is very good to begin with. Just a little port matching at the inlet side to match a RLIM and you are set.
Remember velocity is very important so just hogging out the intake is not the best way to do porting.
Since they are already EH'd this will give you the majority of the gains and is easily done by yourself leaving your only cash outlay for buying exhaust valves and machining the seats & valves. (3 angle & back cut respectively)

Y2KSVT, your car makes me horny. Is that your complete mechanical mod list?

I'm hitting that dyno day on October 2nd, I'm anxious to see what I can put down. I'll have nearly the same setup except I've got a SVT cat-back exhaust with magnaflow res and stock pre-cats, which is probably going to bust my balls. I'm hoping for 185. <shrug>

I've always wondered if P&P SVT heads are worth it, doesn't really seem like it is. Has anyone really seen great gains from it?

I'm still teetering there after doing that and riding in marks car (with less mods), yet his is obviously faster....is it worth it? I don't think its really been proven as of yet.

Yes that is pretty much everything. I didn't throw in the small stuff such as Autolite Double Plats or the Poly-Motor Mount Inserts. But honestly I really don't know why my car makes more power than others with almost identical mods.

Is your car an SVT? Do you have everything basically the same such as the UIM/LIM, T/B, MAF, Injectors? Either way, good luck at the dyno, hopefully I'll be up there to see it.

Ryan, you haven't dyno'd your car yet so who knows what kind of power you have. the 14.4 to 14.7 comparison could be another variable called "Mark's a damn good driver"

True, plus the 17" wheels I'm sure didn't help at the time. I think it has gotten a tad stronger than when I first took it to the track @ 500 miles. Who knows, its just a turd.

Yeah your heavy 17" wheels probably didn't help you out much. I can't tell if my car is stronger now than when I first got the car running. I had the 24# injectors and the 75mm MAF and it seemed crazy fast, only had a bad stalling problem. Now the car runs perfect, just not sure if it's "quite" as fast. I think I was running too lean before. And yes, your car is a turd
