Joe did that house have no basement??? I see nothing about the basement in it. If so you don't want a house without one...it kills resale value. yes the rest of the house is great but no basement will suck in the long run. And crawl spaces are spider heaven Joe do you have a realtor? if you don't get one asap you'll miss out on everything...I missed out ona few houses even though we saw it 2-3 days after it went on the market. The offer on my house was accepted after 2 days of being on the market. It's crazy out there

Also the banks will give anyone a loan now. The rates are still low as hell. I got locked in lower a few weeks back then I did 4 months ago. No money down and I only had 600 for closing costs. Realtor was free(my uncle) the sad thing was seeing how much the old owners owed on the house and how little money the made on the house It's rather shocking to me and all.

Well the house updates for today are i officially spent the first night there friday night and got no sleep I couldn't fall asleep for the life of me. The basement is completely gutted now and the musty smell is about 75% gone. me and my dad are going to start running new copper water pipe to supply the house and install a laundry tub for the washing machine. The cool thing is it cost me $21 for the tub and some fittings and the rest my dad has. he has sooo much copper pipe fittings its sickening

I also started my outdoor landscaping work. Which is basically rip out every bush flower and board that is not needed. My cordless chainsaw kicks azz I got 4 bushes out and a ton of rotten pressure treated lumber removed. Well this week I'll continue ripping down sheds and pulling out bushes. Might even cut down some trees That'll liven up the neighborhood. Well I should be back in a week or so.

Yes, there is a basement. It is about 6' down there so it's just a little tight and too low for me to put a finished basement in - if you need any supplys/parts that you have to buy run it past me and I can see what we have at the shop that is extra from our houses - trim, piping, windows, shingles, tar paper, siding, sheathing, harware, insulation, etc... let me know! - JOE

Hey Fuz, if you buy a house and have a CEG meet I'll join in the fun. My house has 2 BR, 1 Bath, big yard, 1 car garage and a large basement and attic that I can finish off, all for roughly 78k (asking price was 88k). You should think about getting a buyers agent, that is someone who works for you, not the homeowner, to get you the lowest price. Look up The French Company and ask for Brian. We used him and I recommend him to anyone looking at buying a home. Their office is on Park Avenue. Where ya working these days?

So I hear rates are going up again??? I'm happy I got my house when I did. Well after the 1st official week living there it wasn't that bad. I've been busting mmy azz at work and at home and maybe I'll get ahead Knocked down the 2 crappy sheds in the backyard, hooked up the new water softener, and new 3/4in copper to the meter, and removed all the old galvanized crap. Joe if your ever in my area call me on my cell. Last night I went upto johnsons creek to Menards and was tooling around getting ideas. Man if I had about 10-15K I could damn near redo the house...or at least have a damn good start. Joe can you get lumber cheap? Come springtime if I sell some cars I might knock down the garage and build a bigger one further back on the property. But time will tell..later all.

I will call you tony if I am ever in the area - but I have purchased my own home already and have plenty to do too!! yay! I really can't get lumber any cheaper but I was collecting all the extra we had from different jobs but now it is going into my house - I have already ripped out the plaster in 2 rooms, rewired, and drywalled. I have plans to make the walk up attic a loft looking down on the upstairs - lovely!
