Congrats on the purchase. I just became a homeowner about 5 months ago. You'll definitely understand how the car can take an immediate backseat to the house if you have any aspiration to fix it up. Good luck and have fun with it.

You'll come to find out that there's ALWAYS something you can be doing, whether it be inside or out. It's just finding the money to do it that's the tough part

Mikey you want some more bushes? I have bushes in the front and back of the house and I'm gonna yank them out. I can't stand them and I want to "steralize" the property I also have some flowers in the back yard that have to go asap You wouldn't happen be interested in some old sheds too would ya?????

yeah I know i have alot of yard work to do. I want to redo the backyard. I'm gonna borrow a skidsteer and make a swail to divert the watershed away from the house. Also smooth out the transitions back there. Front yard I have to knock down the chimney(it's crumbling and unused)level the font porch/concrete stoop, and do something about the old wooden steps to the sidewalk from the road. The basement will be gutted and stripped to bare walls. 2 bedrooms will probably get gutted also to open up the closets. I have alot of Oak flooring to refinish throughtout the house, remodel the kitchen, blowout a few walls, remove all the carpeting, and probably 1000 more small jobs.

Come spring i hopefully will have sold and saved enough to level the garage and rebuild a bigger one further back on the property I need a 3 car garage

Where is your house? I have actualy been looking at buying a duplex. I would love to stay around the Kettle Moraine or waukesha area since I work in waukesha. But it looks like the only ones in my price range, that are in neighbor hoods that I would want to live in either are in west alis, sullivan, or Jefferson.

House is in Fort Atkinson..right off of highway 12 in town. Quiet are with lots of older folks. yeah houses are super crazy now still. the interest rates are still down and houses are going up like crazy. I actually got locked in at a lower rate now then I was first quoted 4 months ago. So much for the rates going up soon.

Bstone....I'm actually still living at home. I had a short 6 month stint with my now ex. Paying rent really really sucks. Building is the best thing for us younger peeps.

On a side note I just got home with my dad from then place. the whole place has Oak flooring We pulled out half the carpeting in the house to find most of it in excellent condition. The other half just needs old carpeting glue scrapped off. Which just happens to be coming off very easily. I busted out an old shelving unit/closet wall. And tomorrow after work I have a bunch of crap to throw out. I'll probably fill the truck and trailer with wood and carpeting

It sure does feel good to say its all mine!!!! Hopefully sunday I can go to Home depot and buy power tools

Doug Sullivan is expensive. West Allis will Kill you on taxes. jefferson,Fort atkinson, and watertown are cheaper and have low taxes. Mine are only about $2500 west allis is easily twice that from what I have heard. it really all depends on where and what you want. Good luck with finding a place. All I can say is keeping looking while the rates are still low.
