further explained:

yes its on the road, my battery light just started comin on intermittently, i have no stereo system in there and only 700 miles on this "performance" alternator. so apparently the alternator is dying again, dammit! it charges 14.2 volts at idle, then when you rev it up, it dips down in the low 12's...im sure it dips in the 11's which makes the light come on.
