I'm a fan of Creative products myself. They are pioneers in the field of harddrive mp3 players. I bought the original Nomad Jukebox and loved it, I only gave it up for the Nomad Jukebox 3, tho now the Nomad Zen is the newest. The battery life is better than that of an IPOD, and I preffer the chrome color over white (or pink or whatever)

While I dont completely agree, I do not trust Apple. I do not think the IPOD is the best player out there. While it might be the most popular, I think you will find more satisfaction w/ the purchase of another player such as Creatives Nomad Jukebox series.

Considering their 4th generation iPod just came out it's hard to say. They promise 12hrs battery life on this one I believe though. That should equal less charging and probably a stronger battery.
Apple started the digital portable jukebox and have kept in front of everyone as far as I am concerned. Their forward thinking and attention to users and usabilty is amazing. Dont knock it if you haven't tried it.

I have an ipod mini, and I am calling apple today to complain and see about getting a new one. What happened is I let the battery run down to nothing (long car trip) and when i plugged it back in and let it charge up again, the menu button and the hold button on the top had switched functions. Apparently is a fairly common problem with the software, I found a few people complaining about it on apples forums.
I am not saying don't buy an ipod, but I am saying there might be other players out there. Friend of mine just got an mp3 player that has a network jack built into it so it can double as a network harddrive. I wish mine mini had cool stuff like that.

I used to sell them at Best Buy, I would never buy one. Yes they are sexy looking, but the battery thing is a really expensive problem. There are better options on the market that have less problems and/or are cheaper.

I love my Ipod, 30GB, had it for a year now, no problems to speak of. . .I've only filled 17GB of it too, which are pretty much all of my songs at 192kbps, I dunno, there are other options out there, but the NEW ipods that are $100 cheaper than the old gen ones not only have better battery life, but are also sleeker. . .I'd get a 20GB and call it a day. . .IMO, Suneil

Yep, and get a IRiver IMP-550 for portable use. Works great for me!
