while looking at bats new intake setups I notinced that for there cool air tube to fit they completly bent that fender brase down which I have thought of doing for some time.
Doesn't this effect the integrity of the fender?

also when I was experementing with this concept I used 3inch cool air duct using a six foot extended piece only about four cause it was condensed I had rough idle problems as well as a slower reving engine.could this be related to air turbulence from the ridges in the hose?

could you use some sort of silicone hose? where do you get silicone hose from?

Tomorrow I had planned on something similar. I wanted to copy BAT's design and use shop-vac hose running down near the front lower grille with a wide-mouth attachment. Are you saying you tried this and it didn't work?

it dosent work for MTX owners because when they shift into Neutral at hight speeds they stall out. But for us ATX owners its just fine since we dont shift into neutral.

I don't think I have ever shifted into neutral at high speeds- there is no reason to.

I'm not talking about a ramair style setup im talking about putting the filter in the front bumper. problem is you can't get a largedraw tube threw there do to metal support in fender. for bats cold air draw tube or whatever in there picture you can see they bent it down to run there 3inch hose if its safe to bend down why not put the filter in a cold spot all the time get me.

They also mention how it will be hard to access it for cleaning, which it would frequently need in the bumper. The engine bay shouldn't get it that dirty. I am going to test my idea today.

Just an FYI....check out this new companies web-site (no, I don't work for them!)....they are working with PRM to make an intake for our cars. I had a PRM on my old Probe GT and was VERY satisfied with it's performance!!

they decided to drop that project because the gains were the same as the KKM and the cost would have been WAY more then the KKM. Sorry to burst you bubble.

I bought 3" ducting for an RV(6' long) for about $10.00, zip-tied in to gap in front bumper and under-carriage. Covered the gap with mesh/grille from Home Depot ($6.00) so I don't have stupid-looking hose sticking-out the front. I have noticed definite gain in pick-up as there is limited natural air flow in engine bay. Besides the limited clearance underneath, it is a cheap & worthwhile mod...a poor man's cold air intake!
