i know that we seem to have isolated the problem to a faulty uel pump...but i just thought i might ad this...it sounds stupid but it happened to me be careful that your knee is not tugging on other stuff that is attached to your key ring. my car woud sometimes shut off while "driving aggressively" around corners. come to find out, i was bracing my body against the steering column by using my knees. consequently, my right knee would grab my keyless entry remote, pull it down far enough to turn the ignition to the off position. i never noticed it until my gf pointed it out to me. i guess i was concentrating so hard on the task at hand that i could not feel what was going on with my knees

Not stupid at all. I used to carry heavy keychains until I found out that all that weight dangling around there was wearing out my ignition switch on my old Explorer. The truck would suddenly die and all I had to do was wiggle the key around and it would work again. This person's problem does sound like the fuel pump problem though

Have a good one!

Well it did it again....full tank of gas....hmmmm....

If it is still doing it with a full tank, would you still suspect the fuel pump or would it more likely be the battery or a relay?

hey there, i live in calgary as well and just picked up a 98 CSVT on the 16th...i was shocked when i saw your post cuz i didnt know there were more for sale in the city...you dont see them very often. that sucks about whats goin on with the car, mine seems to be ok, just a funny idle problem where it wanders up to 3 grand...small compared to yours it seems. i hope you have found a fix. i was just wondering, if you dont mind my asking, how much you picked up the car for? btw, mines a 98 with 109K and picked up for $12 500.

thanks for your time

I got it for $12,900. The thing is it has quite a few rock chips so I may paint the front.

As an update I solved the stalling problem... I advise ANYONE WHO HAS THIS PORBLEM TO TRY THIS FIRST!

I disconnected the battery to reset the computer and snugged in all the relay's. It hasn't stalled since.

Now that is a cheap cure isn't it!!!!
