Very close.
Larger base turbo but lower boost equals cooler charge temps and roughly same cfm flow. Water injection for detonation control verse IC cooling air charge temps.
The overall intake temps would be a little higher without the intercooler but lower then the non-intercooled Vortech. Higher temps means lower potential power at same cfm flow.
I would imagine spool would be a little slower. Maybe spooling around 3200 instead of 2800. However IMO that's irrelevant anyway.
A drawback would be remembering to feed the water injection reservoir. Though you could look at it another way. A flip chip with a base program (no injection) and a race program with injection. Maybe throw high octane fuel into the mix???
An advantage would be the T3/4 would have a little more room to grow once you did upgrade and get an intercooler & other needed add-ons.
