what would performance be like vs the complete kit?

Very close.

Larger base turbo but lower boost equals cooler charge temps and roughly same cfm flow. Water injection for detonation control verse IC cooling air charge temps.

The overall intake temps would be a little higher without the intercooler but lower then the non-intercooled Vortech.
Higher temps means lower potential power at same cfm flow.

I would imagine spool would be a little slower. Maybe spooling around 3200 instead of 2800. However IMO that's irrelevant anyway.

A drawback would be remembering to feed the water injection reservoir. Though you could look at it another way. A flip chip with a base program (no injection) and a race program with injection. Maybe throw high octane fuel into the mix???

An advantage would be the T3/4 would have a little more room to grow once you did upgrade and get an intercooler & other needed add-ons.

Stazi has no I/C and he put down 280ish at the wheels on a 2.5 at 10 - 11 psi. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually it was 280fwhp @ 8psi. 10psi yeilded no improvement as I did not have the water injection on at the time. With water injection on and 10psi, I think 300hp would be difnitely possible. I will dyno again with water injection once I get my car back on the road.

I would say 300FWHP would be obtainable. I believe the rule of thumb is 8HP/1lb of boost? So 2 more lbs of boost would put you at ~296 and add the water injection on top of that and PRESTO! Well so we hope

I think a good break down of the kit pieces would be nice.
Also I was under the impression the intercooler was around $1200-1500 option. If thats the case than I would rather do stainless steel, and have water injection for the same price or few hundred higher than what your offering. If the I/C is a 1500 value, that would bring the kit down to $3500, than add the W/I for $200 more or so. Just an idea. Maybe offer a grand opening special for the month of November or something instead of a GB. That could save some hassle and bring in business. Whatcha think?

actually, the more you increase the boost, the higher the intake temps rise. Consequently, youll see more gains from lower boost levels than you will from higher boost levels. Also, engine displacement plays a big role.

Chris,
I think the is great Idea and I think you will sell alot more kits now, at that price. I think some people should jump to this oppurtunity! Everybody complined about the price of the orginal kit, and now that the price is lowered it should be good.

That's exactly the idea behind a slightly larger base turbo run at lower psi but the same CFM flow.

~~~
Also to answer another question:
Water injection is mainly for detonation control. It will not add much power. Now combined with allowing more timing then it should however there is a Very fine line and I also mentioned the idea of multiple programs.
The charge temp reduction is also partially offset by the volume the water mist/vapor takes up. It is not compressible nor ignitable and therefore takes up room for subsequent air/fuel mixture.
Yes it is minor and well worth the anti-detonation protection.
