ok, so i just posted about sub enclosures for the old rockford dvc (still not sure about the model number) but looks like i blew one of em. Its travelling like crazy and since I dont know exactly how to tell if it is blown (still sounds like it works fine) but enough blah blah blah i want to get 2 more 8s, so heres the question, what should I get? Im thinkin Alpine but not sure.

with the system off, push down on the cone, if its smooth and silent your sub is fine. if its rough and makes a grinding noise then its blown.

If you're looking for 8s specificly, I would go with either RE's RE8 or the Adire Audio Koda 8.

Yes, I am!

At least I made a legitimate contribution to the thread.

Image Dynamics makes a great 8.
Best 8 I've heard playing sub duties.
The other choice is no longer made, JL 8IB.

Although, if you really want a sub, I would use a larger driver. I've never heard an 8 play below 25Hz with authority. Can an 8 get 25 to 20 Hz in a car? sure just requires much EQ to be spectrally balanced.

if it makes any difference i would like to lean toward sound quality. I tried goin the quantity route but i can never nail down all the rattles and it drives me bonkers when i get that nasty rattling.
