I have a 1995 Mercury Mystique V6. It is at the Ford dealer for the wiring harness recall. The gut calls me and says all six fuel injectors are leaking. What size/color injectors do I need if I do it myself? Or is this guy trying to sell me something to make extra money? He wants $162 an injector plus $33 for one plug wire.

They are trying to make money off of you because they are losing money because your car is there.

Then again there is a slight chance he isnt lying, I would tell him to put it back together and inspect it yourself though, he is trying to sell you $1005 worth of stuff, I wouldnt let someone ever do that much in repair without getting a second opinion.

Since it is all six injectors he is probably talking about the nose injector seals (concave gaskets) and/or the inner and outer oring seals on the tip of the injectors. All of these are available through Ford parts. I recommend you NOT have him work on the injectors....

Replace these later when you get the car back...it is not that hard......if your a bit handy on working on your car.....

You're lucky that the dealership is repairing your underhood wiring.

Be sure that they replace EVERY harness that has insulation cracking on it.

I replaced all 4 harneses myself. It was a royal PITA.

As for the injectors...you can buy the seals from the dealership. Like stated above, there is a concave rubber seal that goes b/t the injector and the LIM. There is also a small rubber washer that goes around the end of the injector. Replace both of these. Use a lot of patience when doing this as you can damage the injector if you aren't careful.

PM me is you need more info.
