Lupe, its just the opposite: The Ford ECM has a 'Clear Flood Mode' (i.e, it shuts down the fuel injectors) when it sees the engine at cranking speed and the TPS signal at the maximum.

From the Contour Owner GUide:
a.) Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there.
b.) Turn the key to the start position.
c.) Release key when the engine starts.
d.) Release the accelerator pedal gradually as the engine speeds up.
