http://www.contour.org/mods/mods.php?s=howto&displayid=39Look at the picture on the bottome of the page. The filter disc on the bottom of the fuel pump module is tto small and too fine. It plugs easily. Take it out and throw it away. You don't need it. There is still a conventional sock filter inside the pump module.
At this point it should be mentioned that Focus and Cougar both have recalls for this exact problem, but Contour got left out. The Cougar uses the exact same fuel pump as your 200 Contour, it is a returnless system.
Some have replaced the fuel pump with the Focus SVT pump. The Focus SVT pump can be purchased by itself, without the entire fuel pump module.
