I had a look and the torx bolts are definitely not causing the caliper to be flush with the caliper bracket. If someone has a picture of a properly installed F-SVT brake setup, I'd love to have a look and compare to mine. Heck, at this point even a stock setup might show me what this should look like.

Also, I checked the inside pad, and you can see it, just not from the angle and light in my picture.

The torx caliper slide bolts need to be tight. The caliper needs to be able to flush with the bracket. Yours just looks loose, not broken. I have a ton of pics I just looked through but none show it clearly.

If you can't get it let me know and I will jack up my SVT, remove the wheel and take a pic. It's no big deal really.

I have over 30K miles on my FSVT setup. Plenty of it is from Track Days and Autocrosses too! I have had 0 problems and no noises like what you are having.

Also check and make sure the caliper can slide on the pins. It could be dragging.

Well, I spent about two hours meticulously pulling apart the entire FSVT brake setup, and I've unfortunately still got that slight "ringing" noise. I'm baffled and frustrated now. (Plus, now my sunroof won't work - unrelated I'm sure, but dammit!)

SVTb4, if you have those pics handy or could edit my pics to show me what you were talking about, I'd really appreciate it. I greased up the caliper pins good, and rechecked every bolt (I think).

Stacking those unhardened washers like you have is a recipe for trouble! Get a SINGLE hardened washer of 2-3mm and replace the ones you have on there now. Stacked washers have the tendency to move and when they move things loosen, and loose calipers are a catastrophe waiting to happen!

Stazi, that's great advice. I had the same concerns when I originally installed, but I recall most folks that were installing this F-SVT brake setup used the multi-washer approach. I will take a look for these and replace ASAP (haven't been driving the car anyway as it's raining and my sunroof broke in the open position ).

Also, I'm still very interested in any pictures anyone can offer. I'm still concerned that I've done this wrong and a failure in my brake system has serious repurcussions. Thanks!

I think we're doing the front brakes on a Coogah this weekend; 278mm replacement. I'll look at that and get a couple pics of my set up for comparison. Maybe get a decent side by side shot.

The 278mm swap is easy. Bolt on new brackets. The FSVT setup does need to be shimmed. I used a single shim for each bolt.

I will try my best to remove the wheel and take a pic this weekend.
