First of all, if there is a link to a how-to and/or troubleshoot for the Focus SVT upgrade, that may help me make sure I've done everything correctly? I've checked the brake FAQ, performed multiple searches, and just haven't come accross it. Many thanks to the patient soul that can offer it up to me.
Here's my problem... I installed the FSVT upgrade last August (yes, a year ago). I bought the kit from another very reliable member and friend who sold his car and helped me install it on mine. The kit had less then 5K miles on it when installed on my car.
Due to unrelated engine problems and lack of funds, the car has sat until now, getting less then 1K miles over the last year. However, since day one, there's always been a scraping noise from both driver and passenger brake setups. This is a light scraping noise, almost sound like something ringing. It is definitely not grinding (such as the caliper rubbing the rotor).
I had a four-wheel alignment completed a month ago. I had the rotors turned and cleaned all the breaking components yesterday. I don't think there is much to adjust except that the spacers/washers are placed correctly?
Anyone have some suggestions or links? Thanks so much!
